"Abraham Lincoln and His Canoe" by Frederick C. Dodds: This story has been in the Dodds family for generations, and is printed here courtesy of Frederick Dodds McClure (of Rockland, MA), great-grandson of the author, who is himself the grandson of Gilbert Dodds, who arrived in Sangamon county in 1824, and was a contemporary of Abraham Lincoln. Dodds often visited Lincoln in his office, "where the two swapped yarns to the annoyance of a waiting 'Aunt Pollie' who in her exasperation one day called them a pretty pair of coots."'

Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865): An exhibition to celebrate the 200th birthday of the 16th President of the United States and his Massachusetts connections
